The Teach Me to Pray — Glorious Mysteries cards help children enter into the great mysteries of Jesus’ victory, the coming of the Holy Spirit, and Mary’s place in heaven.
These mysteries are filled with hope, joy, and the promise of eternal life. For young children, the ideas of Resurrection, Ascension, Pentecost, and heaven can feel distant or difficult to imagine. These cards give them a simple way to see the mystery, hear the story, and pray it with greater understanding.
Each card follows the same child-friendly rhythm:
Be Still • Listen • Ask • Pray
Children first quiet their hearts, then listen to a short and engaging story of the mystery, reflect on one simple question, and finally pray the decade together.
The five Glorious Mystery cards include:
- The Resurrection
- The Ascension
- The Descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost
- The Assumption of Mary
- The Coronation of Mary
The front of each card features sacred artwork that helps children picture the scene and gives them something meaningful to focus on while they pray. The back gently guides them through the mystery without overwhelming them with too much information.
These cards are especially helpful for families, classrooms, homeschool groups, religious education programs, and parish settings where several children may be praying together. Young children often need something they can see and imagine. The artwork helps make the mystery real, while the short story gives them enough context to understand what they are praying about.
Prayer with children should not feel stressful. The goal is not perfect stillness or perfect attention. The goal is to help children build the habit of turning toward God, listening to the story of salvation, asking a simple question of the heart, and praying together.
The Glorious Mysteries teach children that Jesus conquered death, returned to the Father, sent the Holy Spirit to strengthen His Church, and opened the way to heaven.
Teach Me to Pray — The Rosary helps children move beyond simply saying the prayers and begin to enter into the mysteries themselves—seeing, listening, wondering, and praying with hope.
